FAQ ID   Synopsis   Date
1510   SCSI transport failures from timeout, reset or incomplete   22 Aug 1997

Description Top
Getting SCSI errors when booting from a hard drive after Operating
System installation is done.

Operating System installation succeeded onto the drive just fine, but,
when it boots from the drive, it gets just past the point where it
checks the file system, then it seems to hang, then there are a flood of
SCSI errors: e.g.> transport failed: reason "timeout" "reset" or
"incomplete"

The install environment uses some settings in the /etc/system file to
allow it to work better with a wide range of hardware. Perhaps one of
these settings would help.
Solution Summary Top
Boot from the installation CD, and exit out of the installation at the
first available option, then add the following in the /etc/system file.
This needs to be added after the "* set: " section.

Here is what you can try to set:

 set scsi_options=0x58
 set scsi_reset_delay=10000
